Edge Jumpers helped me believe in myself. After the program ended, I decided to implement my goals and not hang around kids who were not focused, wasting time, taking drugs or drinking alcohol. Now I plan, set, and achieve goals and have little anxiety. I don’t care what other kids think about me. I am not into approval. Actions speak louder than words. And, my parents don’t bug me anymore.

Confidence in myself increased a lot after Edge Jumpers. I began to feel great about myself. I was more aware of what I could achieve. I became far more open and outgoing instead of being fearful. I began exploring new friends, places and situations. I am taking more risks than my friends. I believe I can handle any situation that life deals me. And, I am growing as a person.

During Edge Jumpers, I decided to begin weightlifting since I was a skinny kid. A year later, I decided to compete in weightlifting. Within another year, I won three contests and came in second in another one. Then the next year I entered and won the natural teen universe title. I picked my own music for the competition and created my own routine. Not bad for a kid who was totally unmotivated three years ago.

I have more power and the ability to achieve. I don’t let others take my power or give my power away to negative thoughts. I am creating my own life now. And, I am aware that I can make much better choices after Edge Jumpers.

I don’t like or hang around with kids who act like victims. I choose friends whom I can trust. This is a big issue for me. I know many kids who are in rehab. I know I have fear but now I take risks and face and overcome my fear. Just recently I saw an ad in the newspaper for a retail position. I went to the store and dropped off my resume. When I had the interview, I had lots of confidence, and I got the job. I would not have done this before Edge Jumpers.

I learned that I had the power within me to accomplish my goals and to believe in myself. Now, I am more positive and motivated and I believe I can achieve what I want. I’ve decided to start a band with some of my friends and eventually play at events in my hometown.
